Our History

Jim Reeb worked as an Army civil servant providing computer engineering support primarily for Aviation and Missile systems.  In 1998, Jim transitioned from his government position to his new role as a government contractor where he served as a Program Manager for a contract which provided the government with software engineering services. Then, in October 2005, Jim started PPT Solutions with the following solidified mission in mind:  To provide the best people, processes, and technology to customers and ensure all elements are working together to achieve optimum performance.

PPT’s first contract was for the Department of Defense (DoD).  The company worked to improve a Redstone Arsenal organization’s software development processes and provide support for their metrics program as part of a Capability Maturity Model initiative.  In 2006, PPT extended its services to offer software verification and validation and software/quality assurance support for a second Redstone Arsenal software organization.

During 2006, PPT met and worked with GT Software Services, LLC which enhanced PPT’s software engineering and IV&V support capabilities. GT Software Services had specialized in providing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) software certification support with its FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs). In August 2006, PPT acquired GT Software Services.  The acquisition boosted PPT’s capability by adding two areas of competency: (1) real-time embedded software engineering lifecycle development and (2) software safety analysis.  These additional capabilities allowed PPT to offer a wider range of services to the DoD while also opening the door to serve a much broader customer base, including commercial aerospace organizations.

In 2007, PPT continued to grow and hired several key professionals to augment the company’s Information
Systems Management (ISM) capabilities. With the addition of these professionals, PPT was able to acquire ISM work with a new customer, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). In 2009, PPT’s High Integrity Systems support services sector grew to include two new customers: the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Aviation and NASA’s Marshal Space Flight Center (MSFC).

As a result of the company’s commitment to achieving optimum performance, PPT has experienced steadfast growth in terms of annual revenue and staff size since PPT's inception.
